Nick Timothy became Shadow Justice Secretary and Shadow Lord Chancellor in January 2026, taking over from Robert Jenrick after his defection to Reform UK.

First elected MP for West Suffolk in 2024, he was previously Downing Street Chief of Staff under Theresa May from 2016 to 2017, and studied politics at the University of Sheffield after growing up in Birmingham.
